Siemens Prize winner Beat Furrer’s Second Piano Concerto, similar to his First, explores sound material in terms of its creative possibilities. Francesco Piemontesi will be the soloist in the eagerly awaited German premiere. It is followed by another premiere, namely Enno Poppe’s latest explorations of two vocal parts (soprano Keren Motseri and contralto Noa Frenkel) accompanied by orchestra. Poppe loves to experiment in his complex but always comprehensible soundworlds, never shying away from risks and constantly reinventing himself. There is no room for approximation in his work. This concert will also mark his debut as a conductor with the BRSO.
